The $225 Million Health Care Centre opened in 2010. The new hospital was formed through the amalgamation of all local hospitals in the area. The city formerly had three community hospitals; Sudbury General, Sudbury Memorial, and Laurentian Hospital which is the site of the “Health Science North”, and one mental health and community service facility, Sudbury Algoma Hospital. The Hospital services a population in excess of 150,000. It is one of the region’s largest employers with a full time staff of 3,898 people, 270 physicians and has 586 volunteers. The state-of-the-art building also houses the northern Ontario Cancer centre.

Ontario Electrical Construction provided the complete electrical installation and alterations that included the incoming high voltage distribution, 600V switchboards, distribution panels, transformers, 120/208V lighting and receptacle panels, diesel generators, lightning protection, fire alarm, clock, CCTV, nurse call, panic alarm, helipad, card access and communication systems.
