Projects
Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Peterborough
The $190 Million Health Care Centre opened in June 2008. The new 750,000 square-foot facility includes 500 patient beds, replacing the former Peterborough Civic Hospital and the St. Joseph’s Health Centre. The Hospital services a population in excess of 300,000 that includes four counties. It is one of the region’s largest employers with a full time staff of 2,000, 600 volunteers and 350 physicians. The state-of-the-art building is a 6-storey structure built on the slope of hill on the site of the former Peterborough Civic Hospital. The key to the building’s design was to centralize services and provide easy access of services to patients and staff.
