Projects
University College Revitalization & Infrastructure Project, Toronto
University College was built in 1859 and is one of the oldest collegiate buildings in the country. It was designated as a National Historical Site in 1968. Existing architectural elements had to be protected; corridors, study areas and stairwells were hoarded to maintain the buildings historical integrity during construction. Phased construction and shared egress with students was essential to allow teaching to continue during the new installations. The existing college library was converted to a new 2-story library and the west hall to a new reading room. Renovations to the faculty office, librarian offices, classrooms, Croft Chapter house, Senior Common, service areas and lobbies were also included in the revitalization. A new café was constructed on the 3rd floor. Completion April 2020.
